October 6, 2021 the New Bethel Youth Department was honored to welcome the Cleveland Independent School District’s Football Team, Cheerleaders, and the Athletic Booster Club to our church. Given the opportunity to partner with the Athletic Booster Club, we were able to serve and host these young people and their parents during our high school’s Homecoming Week. Our Youth Director, Sis. Lewis was overjoyed; “it was a wonderful feeling seeing these young men and coaches smile and enjoy this relaxing time off the field. I am looking forward to future events that will be part of our community outreach!” The students were served dinner, awarded door prizes, played games, and watched a movie. “It was nice, and we would love to have another one,” said Kendrae Lewis, one of our youth members and a member of the football team.

Sister Valencia Williams, an alumna of CISD said, “It was a joy to see the students and their families fellowship with one another while enjoying a wonderful meal.” The sentiment of this being a wonderful event was echoed by Pastor Travis Hulett, Jr. He further asserts, “The New Bethel Family was excited about hosting the Athletic Department. We had a wonderful time during our fellowship. Looking forward to future endeavors with the coaching staff and the Athletic Department. Special thanks to our Youth Department, Sis. Lewis, Dr. O’Brine, Sis. Williams, Bro. Smith, Sis. J. Cleveland, Sis. Hancock and Sis. I. Lane.”
Wanting to encourage the young men in their football game against the New Caney High School Eagles, our church family provided snack bags and a card of support to each of them.
The Youth Department is so thankful for this opportunity and would truly like to thank everyone that played a part. To our church family, thanks for the wonderful desserts.
